I am pleased to present my resume to you for consideration as an English Teacher and I include extra information about myself which it is to be hoped will strengthen my application for the position.

I am of British-Spanish parentage, English on my father’s side. I have lived in Seville, the place of my birth and London for almost 3 years, but presently I have established my residence in Madrid, Spain. I am therefore a native Spanish speaker and perfectly fluent both in terms of oral production and comprehension, writing and reading levels.

I am a very open-minded, flexible and tolerant person, who welcomes new ideas and changes if necessary and who not only has a passion for teaching, but also for learning from what others can offer.

One of my objectives when teaching a language and the basis of my methodology is to start from what motivates the students, involving them in their own learning without their fully realizing.

Additionally, taking advantage of my origins, I would not only base teaching on theoretical aspects, but with the accompaniment of practical and cultural activities. In this way, students have fun while learning new knowledge and acquire a correct pronunciation of the language in real situations.

I am well aware that schools and their pupils are increasingly heterogeneous and require an individual and personal attention; therefore, in as far as it is possible I would try to adapt, improve and/or extend any type of material bearing in mind the characteristics and needs of each student.

To conclude, I would like to sincerely thank the School for this opportunity of allowing me to apply a job where I can develop my skills and enrich my experience.

Dear Sir/Madam.

I am currently searching for work as an English language teacher. At present, I am working in Naples with the British Council, Cambridge School and the Orientale University. I plan to relocate to Malaga in the summer.

I am enthusiastic, driven and approachable with a wide range of interests, among which I count languages. I have studied several Indo-European languages, for both academic and professional requirements, and as such I am familiar with both the joy and despair that studying a second language can bring. Having been both a student and now a teacher, I believe that the key requirement in our work is the ability to instil in students an interest and curiosity in the language.

As part of my current employment with the British Council, I teach children and adults of all levels ranging from elementary to advanced. I have worked in three different countries and as such, have encountered students from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds. My work at present is classroom-based with an emphasis on the communicative approach. I make use of numerous activities and aids to engage, stimulate and motivate students.

I have taught English to a wide range of students for a variety of purposes, from those focusing on exam preparation to pupils seeking to develop their skills for more social reasons. Having tutored military personnel, university lecturers, medical experts and bank officials, primary and secondary students, as well as fellow teachers, I have sufficient knowledge and experience to help business professionals to achieve their desired goals, while designing course material to suit their requirements. I prefer to focus on the ‘communicative’ method of teaching, facilitating an improvement in the student’s language production (both written and spoken) ability covering numerous subject areas. I particularly enjoy communicating with my students and I am equally comfortable teaching individuals or groups.

Estimado Sr./Sra.:

Soy graduada en Magisterio de Educación Infantil y he realizado diversos cursos relacionados con la actividad docente.

En este curso me he matriculado en un Master Universitario en Prevención e Intervención Psicológica en Problemas de Conducta en la Escuela, ya que quiero continuar formándome en este ámbito de la educación y puesto que considero que es un tema muy interesante para estudiarlo a fondo, realizándolo a distancia para poder continuar trabajando al mismo.

Los primeros años de vida en el ser humano son fundamentales para el desarrollo futuro de las habilidades, y por lo tanto la etapa infantil debe y requiere ser estimulada en todos los sentidos, por este motivo, pienso que la persona dedicada a generar ese aprendizaje tiene que ser una persona con motivación y empeño en conseguir cada día más de si mismo, para después poder transmitir eso a los niños y niñas.

Una frase con la que me siento identificada de Howard Hendricks es la que dice lo siguiente: “La enseñanza que deja huella no es la que se hace de cabeza a cabeza, sino de corazón a corazón” ya que considero que para educar a los niños y niñas de esta etapa, es imprescindible la manera de tratarlos y conseguir que se sientan seguros de si mismos, porque creando este clima de seguridad y confianza conseguiremos que cada vez sean más autónomos.

Este es uno de los motivos fundamentales por los que elegí este camino, el camino de ser maestra de esta etapa, ya que considero que a pesar de no poder haber ejercido hasta el día de hoy como maestra porque prácticamente acabo de finalizar mis estudios, en los lugares en los que he realizado las prácticas he tenido muy buenas expectativas y me he involucrado en todo momento como si fueran mis alumnos, teniendo una gran relación de afecto con ellos desde el primer momento.

A continuación les adjunto mi currículum vitae con la finalidad de que lo tengan en cuenta en el momento que se produzca alguna vacante laboral en su centro docente y quedo a su disposición para aclarar cualquier duda que puedan plantear mis datos personales.
