Over the years I have gained a lot of teaching experience throughout the community of Madrid as a language assistant, working in academies, and giving private English classes. It has been very enriching and rewarding because as you teach you learn to continue to expand your ideas to make learning more fun and interesting. I find that using the three learning styles of visual, audio, and kinesthetic to be very helpful especially for young learners. A few years ago my 2nd of ESO students inspired me to write a song using the irregular verbs in the past. From this experience I now have an interest in getting students to write poems or songs related to whatever they are learning in English class.
I believe giving that freedom to express themselves in the language they are learning broadens their minds and increases their creativity. In another school where I taught, I discovered that teaching though imagination is an absolutely wonderful activity for young learners to increase their listening, speaking, and writing abilities most especially at the primary levels but could of course certainly be applied to secondary with more age-appropriate topics. At a few other schools that I worked at I was able to use my theatre experience and apply it to teaching. The Meisner acting technique is very useful for students learning the different ways to answer yes, and no in english (ie Yes, I was. No you weren’t) and also, for improvisation for the more advanced level.Thank for your attention to this letter and for reviewing my credentials.
